Badrinath, Nov. 18 : Scores of Hindus queued up as one of Hindus most revered shrines in Uttarakhand state prepares to close down for six months for a winter break today. The Badrinath shrine is one of the four holiest shrines of the Hindus and closes for six months every year when the region is enveloped in heavy snow. It was an emotive moment for many, when the doors of the shrine were closed amid chanting of Vedic incantations.
