Bharatiya Yuvak Sangh making Hindu temple on the blueprints of Sri Harmandir Sahib

Bharatiya-Yuvak-Sanghs-494x330Amritsar, Punjab: Amritsar’s 106-year-old Durgiana Mandir (Copy of Darbar Sahib) will now replace the Sri Harmandir Sahib as the theme of the Durga Puja pandal at Bakri Bazar in Upper Bazar area of Ranchi.

Organizers Bharatiya Yuvak Sangh on Sunday agreed to make the needed modifications as a gesture after a Sikh delegation from Jamshedpur visited the capital to point out to them that they did not like the idea of placing a Durga idol inside the exact copy of saachkhand Sri Harmander Sahib.

Twelve members of Dharm Prachar Committee came down to Ranchi to meet the organizers.

We came to know that a replica of Sri Harmandir Sahib is coming up as the pandal for Bharatiya Yuvak Sangh through Facebook. Since no idol is kept inside theSri Harmandir Sahib, we pointed out to them that our religious sentiments would be hurt if they place an idol inside the Sri Harmandir Sahib replica and requested them to change the pandal theme, said Harpal Singh, president of Dharm Prachar Committee, Jamshedpur.

They also asked the organisers to curb smoking on the pandal premises. Smoking is strictly prohibited atSri Harmandir Sahib, said Singh.

The organizers also readily agreed.

We had decided to create a replica of the Sri Harmandir Sahib to spread the message of the triumph of good over evil. We never wanted to hurt the feelings of any community, said Basant Kumar, director of the Sangh.

The Durgiana Mandir is only a smaller version of the Sri Harmandir Sahib made by Hindu fanatics “Arya Samaj” in order to steal the popularity of Sikh known religious Darbar Sahib.

Regarding the smoking issue, Kumar said that though they also do not support it, it was beyond their control.
